How effective is caustic soda as a weedkiller?
2012年1月14日 · Caustic Soda is far too dangerous and expensive. Much better to use ordinary table salt for long term weed control or cheap vinegar mixed with a drop of washing up liquid to kill annual weeds. My Mind wanders, if found please return.

2010年3月28日 · Caustic soda is a strong base, whereas vinegar is a weak acid so while a reaction will occur if you add one to the other it won't be very extreme. I would use the CS then wait til it does it's thing then rinse out with water and only then use the vinegar.

2009年1月26日 · The best way to clear a blocked sink pipe is by removing the U-bend and physically cleaning the pipe. Caustic soda is powerful stuff, it can cause chemical burns, it should be treated with care - mixed according to the instructions wearing gloves and goggles. I would only use it for outside drains.

2005年2月23日 · I also have the big blue tray from lakeland, and i dissolve caustic soda crystals ( bought from Boots, Superdrug or chemist or local hardware shop)in hot water enough to cover the shelves and let them soak over night next day the burnt on bits just rinse away. BUT make sure children or pets cannot go near the tray whilst it is full of solution.
