It is a VASTLY inferior film to the longer version (more of just a regular horror movie than the portrait of a dysfunctional family with an abusive, alcoholic father that the longer version sets up from the beginning).

2020年10月28日 · I watched the Shining on Blu-ray for the first time last night. I had only seen the dvd or Netflix version before. I've seen the film probably around 10 times now and it still hypnotizes me. I try to watch it once every year or so, but this was the first time in HD and to be honest, it kind of gave me a different feeling than it usually does.

Doctor Sleep is basically a bootleg X-Men movie, not a horror movie, far too polished in set design for the creepiness it tries factor in, and not at all like either the movie or the book The Shining in tone, writing, or story.

2018年9月13日 · Hope you like it! The Rob Lowe versions pretty good too. Id reccomend reading it first. I was super excited to finally watch The Shining! I like Kubricks, but as a stand alone story, if I think of it as an adaptation of the book, i hate it. Even though Nicholson is perfect. From what I heard the tv Shining is closer to the book. So I was stoked!
