After installing hplip, SANE knows how to find the scanner automatically, scanimage -L shows it and simple-scan works as expected. Old versions of hplip didn't automatically install the SANE configuration, but that was fixed long ago.

This tool will scan whole network or custom range if you wish, and list only the IP's which has certain service enabled, in this case printers. Or VNC enabled devices, or SSH enabled devices etc, you name it.

2022年7月6日 · Most scanner drivers see support via SANE's set of drivers, and any Linux scanner app should work with them. Xsane is a full-featured one, but there are others. I am not sure about brother scanners, but some manufacturers do provide their own GUI utilities. HP via HPLIP. Cannon has one as well, but it lacks any sort of features at all.
